National Art Gallery

The National Art Gallery that exists today is highly praised by many visitors who have come to view its exhibits. Open daily from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm, the gallery is spacious, thus allowing visitors to walk and browse around freely.

As one enters its doors, there is a centerpiece sculpture made of metal. This is situated near the information desk where the staff is more than willing to help should you need any assistance. For those interested in taking photos of the gallery and artwork, please spare a few minutes to fill up a requisition form to obtain a pass.
As you go further into the main area of the gallery, there are many sculptures that reflect a emotions in the masterpieces. The main area gives you a pleasant feeling as the ambience is warm and comforting.

If you need refreshments or feel like sampling &quotartistic" foods, there is a café serving interesting combinations of Asian food with a little bit of western influence. The Artscafe is also an ideal venue to organise corporate or social gatherings away from the &quotmadding crowd&quot. The cafe is a lovely place to chill out for a cuppa or to simply chitchat whilst enjoying the beautiful Kuala Lumpur skyline. One may also be inspired by the paintings of budding artists and other creative works by talented people. The café is open between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm.

The National Art Gallery also holds Japenese Saturday Film Shows beginning 3.00 pm. Besides, the management body also strives to hold all kinds of events relating to art like Art Installation exhibitions, ASEAN Art Awards, Children Art Competitions and others.

With the many events in plan for 2001, it has so far been proven that the National Art Gallery has begun on the right path gearing towards a promising new millennium.
